Hello, and welcome the Dead Pod for the week of August 7th, 2020.

This is a professor, so glad it could pick us up this week.

This week, as we come to the closing of the days between, we're going to bring you the second

set from the band's performance at the Ventura

County Fairgrounds in Ventura, California. July 22nd, 1984. This is quite an energetic

second set. It starts out since it's a Sunday show with Sampson and Delilah. Then things take

a quite a sharp turn into ship of fools. It's well done, but it's a real kind of a jarring

transition.

Then Brett pulls out only the second time the band has ever played this tune.

I just want to make love to you.

They hadn't played it since 66.

It does a pretty fair job on it.

In demand, smart women smarter.

Then the meat of this show, I think,

it starts a nice tear-up and station

into a great drums and space, into a fabulous morning dew.

That goes then into Throwing Stones, not fade away, a combination which

wasn't quite as to be expected back then as it came to be. But well played. They come back

with a double encore in the midnight hour into broke down palace. I think everybody went home happy.

It's a well played well recorded show so I hope you enjoy it and
