Summary

The dog days of August are upon us.. but hopefully this week's Deadpod can see us through.. this is a good one from August 5, 1979 in Oakland. The first set certainly starts out rather laid back and so is perhaps fitting for the time... check out the transition from 'Franklin's' into 'Me & My Uncle'.. The set is well played in my opinion and the recording is good - I will tell you there is a brutal cut at the end of the 'Althea' .. ouch .. the transition from 'Lost Sailor' into 'Althea' is sweet however..

pick us up this week. I think we have a good one this week. The first set's a bit laid back,

0:09.7

but I kind of enjoy it. It comes to us from Oakland, California, on August the 5th, 1979. It was

one of those Sunday shows, and it took place at the Oakland Auditorium. The first step starts out with a really laid-back Mississippi Half-Step into an also laid-back Franklin's Tower, but very nice to listen to, I think.

The Franklin's slows down to go right into me and my uncle.

0:36.6

That goes into a nice big river. Candyman follows, again,

kind of laid back then. It's All over now. Brown-eyed women. Sailor into a nice transition

into Althea, and they close the set with a really amped up promised land. So,

hope you enjoy this one. The second set's quite good. We'll hear that next week.
