Happy 4th ! and of course Happy Fare Thee Well Weekend!

This week i thought it appropriate to feature a set from Chicago so we will finish up with set 2 from the Auditorium Theater in Chicago Il that was played back on June 29th, 1976. Not only is this a very fine sounding recording but I am willing to bet you'll enjoy how the band sounds .. there is quite a bit of very fine jamming going on here. Jerry sounds great on the Candyman, and the Playin' in the Band has some very interesting music in it to say the least! Of course, it is a treat to hear a 'later' St. Stephen and this one is very interesting going into Not Fade Away then back to Stephen.

The US Blues is rough, but hey its the 4th! :)

0:06.3	pick us up this week. And of course there's lots of excitement this weekend as the
0:10.4	van prepares for their final fair the well shows up in Chicago at
0:13.6	Soldier Field hope that if you have the good fortune of attending that you have a
0:19.0	great time and watch out for each other take care of each. It's going to be a fabulous weekend, I'm sure.
0:25.0	So here's a little soundtrack to go along with it. Of course, the Dead Pod.
0:29.0	This week we're going to bring you the second set.
0:31.0	A great show that took place in Chicago, Illinois back on June 29th,
0:34.4	1976. This was at the Auditorium Theater. And it's quite a nice sounding tape.
0:39.7	I think you'll enjoy this one. It starts out with Sampson and Delilah. Then a nice version of
0:43.4	Candyman goes into a very a nice exploratory version of playing in the Jans.
0:48.0	It's got a nice space jam in it. Jerry does a really nice job on it. That goes into a version of the wheel that's quite good again and more jamming into a nice playing in the band Reprise into St Stephen. It's one of the newer sounding St Stephen's that they came out with in 76 interesting to say the least.
1:04.8	In the not fade away back into St Stephen one more Saturday night closes the
1:09.2	second set they come out for an encore that they kind of botch a bit, but it's a US Blues encore,
1:14.9	appropriate for the 4th of July, even if not spectacularly well played.
