Summary

Ah summer.. in the midst of its heat and humidity its wise for us to sit back and breath it in.. and savor it for passes like dew.. this week's Deadpod is of course the second set of a show that seems to me to embody the kind of setlist that a summer GD show should have.. lyrics that speak of starlight and songs that twinkle and sparkle like the summer night sky. Crazy Fingers.. Uncle John's Band.. Terrapin.. and of course Morning Dew.. even the Quinn the Eskimo reminds me of warm summer shows outdoors watching the boys .. I hope you've been lucky enough to see Furthur this year.. for all of us we have the chance to savor this recording and close our eyes and remember warm summer nights and the music that could take us along with those breezes..

0:05.0	I'm so glad to pick us up this week.
0:06.6	This week we get to hear the second set from the show that took place back on July 2nd,
0:10.4	1988 at the Oxford Plain Speedway in Oxford, Maine.
0:15.0	Really great set list in the second set, perfect for a summer night.
0:19.2	They start out with a beautiful rendition of Crazy Fingers. Then they go into playing in the band.
0:25.3	The playing doesn't, it's not a monster version like some versions but it goes into a
0:29.6	really well-played version of Uncle John's band. Jerry does a great job on that.
0:34.5	Then they go into a Terrapin station, always a joy to listen to, especially in an outdoor
0:40.2	setting in the summer I think. And that goes into drums and space. They come back out with
0:45.8	the wheel. Give me some love and goes into all along the watchtower. Then Jerry comes out
0:50.3	with his slot and does a great rendition of Morning Dew. The band finishes up with
0:56.0	Sugar Magnolia, which is of course perfect for that kind of set closer, and the encore they come
1:01.5	back and do the mighty quin always a nice fun song and a great way to wrap up a show so it's really quite well played
1:11.0	Certainly was a lot of fun. I'm sure, for the folks who were tended and I could only wish I could see something like that today.
