Summary

This week on the Deadpod we have another monumental set from the seminal year of 1974. This week of course from the show in Springfield MA, on June 30, 1974.

Following Seastones, the boys came out with a fine 'China>Rider' a combo often used to good effect as a second set opener. The transition is quite fine. 'Big River' follows and shows the spark it had which made it an excellent second set tune. A stand-alone 'Scarlet Begonias' lets Jerry stretch out a bit next. The meat of this set however is the 'Truckin'>Eyes>Stella Blue'.. as always during this period 'Truckin' lets the boys take things to unexplored dimensions, but the 'Eyes' here is perhaps my favorite. 'Stella Blue' is sung very well also. A strong trifecta of 'Not Fade Away>Goin' Down the Road>One More Saturday Night' closes the set, which even without an encore comes in at just slightly less than two hours.

0:06.3	This week we continue with the third set of the band's performance at Springfield Civic Center
0:11.1	Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts, June the 30th, 1974.
0:16.7	As usual for this period 74, this concluded the 74 spring tour and this was a great show and I think you'll really enjoy this set
0:28.8	starts out with an excellent China ride or the transition between the two is particularly interesting and strong as always.
0:36.0	Big River follow a song that got really kicked it up at that time period.
0:40.5	I think they do a great job here. Stand alone Scarlet
0:43.2	Gionius comes next. Jerry does some nice interesting noodles here.
0:47.1	And we have El Paso, US Blues, into Truckin, into Eyes of the World,
0:53.4	into Stella Blue.
0:54.2	This is really the heart of the show.
0:55.4	The Truckin is quite interesting.
0:57.2	They go to some nice spaces there.
0:59.4	They do a nobody's fault but mind jam in there. And transition into eyes of the world is quite good.
1:06.0	The eyes is one of the better ones I think.
1:08.7	I think this period of time they did a great eyes of the world.
1:11.6	This one gets a little bit spacey and it goes on for quite a while. It's really quite nice.
1:17.0	It goes into a nice soft transition into Stella Blue. Jerry's voice sounds great there.
1:22.0	They close the show with a real strong. Stella Blue, Jerry's voice sounds great there.
1:22.5	They close the show with a real strong, not fade away,
1:26.0	into going down the road, feeling bad,
