Summary

This week's Deadpod takes us back to Irvine California for the second set of the show from April 23, 1988.

This second set is well-executed, tight yet containing several delightful spacey interludes. The opening 'Playin In the Band', while short, is quite interesting and gives way to an excellent 'Crazy Fingers'. That leads into 'Uncle John's Band', afterwards the band goes into a rather extended Drums and Space, whcih are quite high powered and interesting.

Post-Drums highlights include a powerful 'Going Down the Road' and an excellent 'Dear Mr. Fantasy> Hey Jude reprise'. Jerry's ballad slot gives us a sweet 'Stella Blue' and they close the set with a nice 'Lovelight'. A 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' encore ends the festivities.

0:14.8	Nice energetic second set starts out with a great tightly played playing in the band, nice
0:20.1	spacy but not real long, goes into a great crazy fingers,
0:24.0	and that goes into another beautifully done Uncle John's band.
0:28.0	Nice pre-drummed set here.
0:30.0	It goes into drums and space.
0:32.0	They're a little bit longer than some shows during this period,
0:34.8	but I think they're quite well done.
0:36.0	Very energetic as the entire show was.
0:38.9	That goes into going down the road feeling bad.
0:40.9	A little bit of screeching on Weir's part, but nevertheless that goes
0:45.6	into I need a miracle every day into Fantasy Hey Jude Reprise.
0:50.4	And then Jerry does it beautifully, it slows it down a bit with a nice Stella Blue.
0:55.0	They end the set with turn on your lovelight and Jerry comes back for a nice encore, knocking on Heaven's Door.
