Summary

This week on the Deadpod we continue with the second set from the band's performance at the Greet Theater in Berkeley California on May 21, 1982.

The set kicks off with a tight 'Playing In the Band' highlighted by contributions from Brent that are just exactly perfect. An uptempo 'Uncle John's Band' follows, the jam leading out into drums has a nice interplay between Phil and Jerry that is quite cool. Drums has some intense moments.. they go into a nice ensemble version of 'The Wheel'. A Playin reprise follows, leading into a soulful 'Black Peter'. 'Sugar Magnolia' closes the set, and they return with Jerry singing a great version of 'Don't Ease' as a uptempo encore.

0:04.2	I'm so glad to pick us up this week.
0:06.6	This week we're going to continue with the second set of the band's performance
0:09.2	at the Greek Theater at the University of California at Berkeley
0:12.2	on May 21st, 1982 was a Friday show.
0:15.6	The second set starts with a some tuning, a little bit of strumming, into a nice playing
0:21.5	in the band. This is very tightly played. There's a lot of a lot of nice work by Brent throughout this this rendition. Jerry's leads are sharp and crisp.
0:41.9	That then goes into a really perky Uncle John's band very nicely up-tempo and notable perhaps that Jerry and Phil do a nice duet at the outro into drums and space.
0:47.0	So even though it's a rather short pre-drum set, it's quite nice, drums and space is a bit elongated
0:53.4	and contains some interesting work throughout.
0:57.6	That goes into the wheel.
0:59.6	They do a fully formed playing in the band, Reprise,
1:02.4	which is quite nice into a Black Peter.
1:04.8	Black Peter of course is a rather solemn song, but that's broken up by the sugar magnolia which follows.
1:13.4	Then they do a great encore.
1:14.8	Jerry sounds great on it of Don't Ease Me'N.
