Summary

This week I'm thought I would share this very interesting show from way back in 1969. This is quite a fine recording, and I thought I'd go ahead and bring you the entire show this week, although it makes for a bit longer Deadpod than usual. As you can see below the show features a number of tunes without Garcia and Pigpen; the story goes that each were too incapacitated in their own way, to continue.... the jamming how does.. and very nicely. I think you'll agree this is a fantastic recording of a unique moment in Grateful Dead history.. I hope you enjoy it..

0:00.0	Hello and welcome the Dead Pod for the week of March the 8th 2013. This is a professor. I'm so glad to pick us up this week.
0:06.4	This week I decided to bring you a real treat. This is quite an interesting tape. It comes to us from
0:11.6	June the 8th, 1969 to Fillmore West, San Francisco, California.
0:17.0	A really nice sound and tape. We've got two sets. I'm going to play both of them this week, so it's a slightly longer dead pod than usual.
0:24.4	The first set features a full band, Dancing in the Streets, goes into He Was a Friend of Mine,
0:29.9	Great Old Song, China Cat Sunflower, and a new potato caboose and closes out with
0:35.2	me and my uncle. Set two for the most part is without Garcia although he is
0:41.6	present on the first song.
0:44.2	We have a 35 minute version of Turn On Your Love Light without Pigpen.
0:50.7	We have the things I used to do who's loving you tonight. That's it for the other one into
0:56.0	Cosmic Charlie rounds out that set too. Now those additional songs the ones that you haven't heard about before, the things they used to do,
1:05.5	who's loving you tonight, and actually the lovelight, are with Elvin Bishop on guitar and vocals,
1:12.0	without Garcia on the things I used to do and who's loving you tonight.
1:17.3	Love Light is without a pig pen with Wayne Sabalosos on vocals.
1:24.0	The story behind this is that Pig Pena Garcia,
1:27.0	each in their own way world, too incapacitated to play.
1:31.3	Interesting, interesting show, but the jamming is pretty hot and I think you'll enjoy it.
1:37.0	Certainly a unique recording and always great to hear some good old primal dead so I think you'll enjoy this
