Summary

Here's a fine set of music for your Friday courtesy of the Grateful Dead back on February 22, 1974.We continue from last week with the second of three sets that the band favored us with to begin their quintessential 1974 tour. A fine recording here captures the nuances of Keith on Piano and of course the rest of the band's interplay which is especially notable on the wild 'Truckin' and the jams that follow. 'The Race is On' is a perfect way to bring in Spring, and don't overlook the 'China>Rider'; of course you're familiar with it, but this is a most excellent version.

0:09.0	opening up the year 1974 their first show. February 22nd 1974 at the Winterland Arena in San
0:16.5	Francisco, California. We'll hear set two this week. Set three is going to follow next week.
0:21.9	Now this one's pretty good on its own. It starts out with a really nice Tennessee
0:26.0	Me and my uncle follows some great Keith work in there on a piano. Ship of fools and then
0:32.1	springs here so it's nice to hear the races on. Probably the highlight. We're one of the highlights
0:37.2	of this set. I think there's a couple here. Is this China cat? I know you rider that follows. So
0:41.8	transition is very nice. Following that is a really nice trucking including a great nobody's fault
0:48.5	the mind jam. Goes on about five minutes. It can't all be identified as that but still very
0:53.6	nice jam in the middle there. They really go off on this one and they close with the wonderful going
