Summary

This week's Deadpod features a darn good second set from November 2nd, 1977 when the boys played at Seneca College in Toronto Canada. This set features a kind of slow build up to a real apex of jamming and finishes off strong as well. This second set has a somewhat unusual order.. it starts with a nice Sampson and Delilah goes into a rather slower Ship of Fools. Then we get an uptempo Good Lovin' followed by Donna's 'Sunrise'.. then we get one of the highlights of the show, a killer Scarlet->Fire.. that goes into Estimate Prophet. As Estimated closes we hear Jerry bring out 'St. Stephen' much to the delight of the crowd. the Truckin' that follows is wonderfully done.  They follow the rockin' Around and Around with a rare Terrapin Station encore which is quite well done.

A really nice way to pass some time in the dead of Winter...

Hello and welcome to Bed Pot for the week of February the 6th 2015.

This is a professor, so glad to pick us up this week.

As we have a very fine second set coming your way this week, coming to you of course from

0:11.4

November the 2nd, 1977 Fieldhouse, Seneca College, Toronto, Canada.

0:16.7

Much of this course was much of this set, but not all of it, was released as Dick's Pix 34 so you might want to check that out. However this is a slightly different source I have no problem playing it for you because it should be experienced in an

0:33.6

unedited way in its entirety. It starts out with a great bouncy, Samson, and

0:38.9

Delilah. Ship of Fool's fellows, up-tempo good-loving, then Sunrise, which is maybe an underrated song,

0:46.7

it depends on how you feel about Donna, and then a fine, very fine, scarlet fire, drops down to the middle of the set where it usually doesn't make an appearance

0:56.0

and it's really well played.

0:58.0

It leads into quite a another excellent version of estimated profit.

1:06.4

And then that goes into a very surprising

1:08.6

but, well, welcomed St Stephen.

1:12.4

Jerry drops those notes and you can hear the energy go up about 20 points in the room.

1:18.9

Very well done, goes into trucking.

1:20.8

They close that too with a bouncy around and around, come back and do a very soulful

1:25.0

Terrapin station, Encore. Unusual in the Encore spot, but one of the better ones of that great year. So I think you'll enjoy this second

1:34.0

set. So glad you can pick us up this week. Hope you're staying warm if you're in the

1:37.6

cold environments. I know we are up here lots of snow and to our brothers and sisters to the east, they're getting lots of snow, so stay safe and enjoy this fine set from the Grateful Dead. So glad you pick us up. Thanks so much for your support. Really appreciate it.
