This week I'm going to bring you the first set

from one of those year-ending runs out in the Oakland Arena

in Oakland, California.

This comes to us from December 30th, 1999. You've had some requests

for some later day dead, including some Hornsby, and I'm particularly fond of his work during

this period, and I think you'll enjoy this. We'll play the first

set this week, the second set next week. This set starts out with some solid, solidly played

first set standards, Bertha Stranger Candyman, me and my uncle in played first time time, which is kind of rare, stuck in Sanimobile with the Memphis Blues again, Tennessee

Jet, and then the last time they ever did Valley Road, which is a shame because I think they did

a great job on it.

If they just would have practiced it a little bit I'm sure Vince would have been

or Bruce would have been happy to keep it in the rotation but that's the way it

goes and hope you enjoy this one I'm so glad you could pick us up this professor from
