Hello and welcome the Dead Pod for the week of October 31st 2008. This is a professor.

So glad to pick us up this week on this Halloween edition of the Dead Pod.

We're going to start, start this is gonna be a little bit different this week because I'm gonna start

Start off with a tune this week in memory of a big loss that the community had this week.

Most of you probably already know we lost Merle Saunders this week and his love and his light will be sorely missed by everybody in the grateful dead community.

And I'm sure you know that Merle was

long time, played a long time with Jerry on many different projects and in fact helped

Jerry recover his guitar playing ability when Jerry suffered his stroke.

And we're going to start out with a number from Merle Saunders Jerry Garcia called

That's a touch I like from the March 1st, 1975 show at the Keystone

in Berkeley.

And it's just one way of saying thank you and goodbye to a wonderful man and a wonderful

musician, and we're sorry to see him go. As promised,

the rest of the set is going to come to us from April 9th, 1988, the Centrum in Worcester, Massachusetts. we're going to be hearing from the second set.

A wonderful, looks like rain into Terrapin, drum space, going down the road, miracle,

dear Mr. Fantasy in the Hey Jude, Throne Stones, and not fade away.

Then there's a little bit of surprise encore from Halloween of 91.
