Summary

Of course I don't know how it has been where you are... but the winter up here in Michigan has been pretty mild so far (now I've jinked myself :)
Still.. I didn't think a little pick-me-up would be a bad idea.. this show is a request from one of my listeners and I thought a little Springtime Dead would be just the thing for the after-holidays blues.. Hope you enjoy this one.. I'm always a fan of 'Here Comes Sunshine' and actually have enjoyed Phil's renditions of 'Broken Arrow'.. I hope you enjoy this one as well.. next week's 2nd set features a wonderful Playin'..

I'm so glad you could pick us up this week

0:06.2

as we roll into a new year and winter is fully upon us.

0:10.6

I had a request for this show

0:11.9

and thought that it would be not a bad time to break it out.

0:15.1

It sounds like spring. It's a really nice show.

0:19.2

From a later era of the band, this comes to us from May 26th 1993 from the Cal Expo

0:26.4

Amphitheatre in Sacramento, California. I had previously played the day before

0:30.6

show on an earlier edition of the Dead Pod. But this show is worthy of broadcast

0:38.1

as well. It was a benefit for the Rex Foundation and those were usually great shows and this is

0:49.5

really quite good. The second set is probably that hard of the show and we'll play that next week, but the first

0:54.4

set's nice as well. They start out with a nice Samson and Delilah, usually a mark of a fun show.

1:00.7

Then they go into Here Comes Sunshine, which is of course what they broke out, a tune they broke out again in the late 90s and did a credible job on it. It's quite nice.

1:10.0

Walkin Blues Follows, then Phil sings Broken Arrow, which is a song he started to sing there

1:15.8

in the last couple of years that I quite enjoyed, which is not always the case when

1:20.2

Phil sings, but this is a nice one. Then Ramble on Rose, stuck inside of Mowilwolf, Memphis Blues, again, goes into a set-closing

1:28.1

deal that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Next week we'll have a second set as I said.

1:33.0

Hope you enjoy this is and so glad you could pick us up this week.
