Summary

I'm guessing that if you listened to last week's Deadpod you know that this week's second set from 3/31/73 is going to be great.. great sound.. great playing.. great X factor. I love this show and hope you do too. It may not have some of the big 'hits' of the day (Dark Star, etc) but there is some really wonderful explorations. I think if you listen closely you'll hear themes from all sorts of places in this music. Appropriately we start with a Chuck Berry tune - Promised Land.. then move into a hard rockin' Bertha. That flows into a pretty interesting GSET. He's Gone is slower.. but they then move into the real funhouse of the set.. Truckin' into Drums then a wonderful Other One->Spanish Jam.. this one is quite unique.. then they somehow end up in 'I Know You Rider'...

This is a fun ride.. hope you enjoy it!!!

0:06.4	This week we're going to bring you the second set from this really excellent show that
0:10.3	we featured last week.
0:12.1	Took place back on March 31st, 1973 at the War Memorial
0:15.6	Auditorium in Buffalo, New York. Shows there always seem to be pretty good for
0:19.8	some reason up in Buffalo. Well this was no different. This is really some great dead.
0:23.4	73 of course a great year you hear a lot of traces of what was going to come
0:27.9	in some of these songs. There's a lot of jamming going on in these songs and I
0:31.4	think you'll enjoy.
0:32.7	Starts out appropriately enough this week with the Chuck Berry tune Promised Land.
0:37.0	Bertha follows, it's a real nice rockin Bertha, greatest story ever told.
0:41.2	Then we go into a little, they slow down a bit with he's gone, but then go into a real nice trucking,
0:45.6	then a real jazzy segment of drums into a great other one. This one has some real fine
0:58.2	moments in it of exploration to see how many themes you can come up with. I've read all sorts of themes that people think they hear in this one.
1:01.4	Goes into a Spanish jam. It's quite unique I think. It's one of those that
1:07.5	one of those jams that you only get one time. This one has definitely got the Spanish flavor,
1:11.6	but it's unlike most others.
1:13.4	Then somehow they go into, I know your rider.
1:15.7	So it's really nicely done.
1:17.6	Sugar Magnolia fells to close the set and they come back with a Casey Jones encore. Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
