Hi from CNN, I'm Josh and Sharna with the five things you need to know for Thursday,

November 27th.

We start with the latest on the shooting of two members of the West Virginia National Guard

in Washington, D.C. At a news conference this morning, U.S. Attorney for D.C., Janine

Piero identified the victims as 20-year-old Sarah Bextrum and 24-year-old

Andrew Wolf. They have both undergone surgery and are in critical condition.

Piero says the alleged gunman will be charged with three counts of assault with intent to kill

while armed, and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, though the charges

could change depending

on the well-being of the victims.

FBI director Cash Patel gave an update on the investigation.

It is an ongoing investigation of terrorism.

Make no mistake about it.

While Piro says it's too soon to say what the motive is, Patel did reveal more information

on the alleged shooter's background. There is confirmation now that the subject had a relationship in Afghanistan with partner forces.

We are fully investigating that aspect of his background as well, to include any known associates

that are either overseas or here in the United States of America.
