coverage right here on MSNBC. I am Stephanie Ruhl here with my dear partner, Empower

Ali Velschi who is finishing off the job that was at the core of President Biden's

State of the Union address tonight. In his first speech before divided Congress, the

President not only talked about what his administration has already done, but where

he wants to take the country going forward.

I stand here tonight after we've created with the help of many people in this room, 12

million new jobs. More jobs created in two years than any President has created in four

years because of you all.

We came together past the bipartisan infrastructure law. The largest investment infrastructure since

President Nais Howard's Interstate Highway System. I'm a Republican friends who voted

against it as well, but I still get asked to fund the projects in those districts as

well, but don't worry. I promised I'd be a President for all Americans. We'll fund

these projects, and I'll see you at the groundbreaking. Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair

share of some Republicans, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security sunset.

I'm not saying it's a majority of them. As we all apparently agree, Social Security

Medicare is off the books now. We got unanimity. I'm not going to allow them to take away.

Be taken away. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever, but apparently it's not going to be a

problem. I know most cops and their families are good, decent, honorable people of Asma

and Jordan. And they risk their lives every time they put that shield on. But what happened

to Tyree and Memphis happens too often. We have to do better. Congress must restore the

right that was taken away and rovey way and protect rovey way. Make no mistake about
