And it is on the President and House Speaker going one-on-one to talk raising the debt ceiling

before the U.S. defaults on its debt for the first time ever, which of course, if it did,

would mean economic disaster.

President Biden wants to raise the limit without any conditions, while Speaker McCarthy

and House Republicans say there will be no increase without spending cuts.

The Speaker spent more than an hour with the President at the White House.

This afternoon, McCarthy said this about that meeting.

We both laid out some of our vision of where we'd want to get to, and I believe after laying

both about, I can see where we can find common ground.
