of what the next two years of divided government could look like.

stormed the Capitol while he appears to be in Florida, the direct line from there to

January 6th.

After a marathon election, now Speaker Kevin McCarthy has gaveled the House into session

for the rules vote tonight.

The House will be in order.

Since the Speaker election took a total of four long days, the rules vote became a test

of unity for House Republicans, and they managed to pass it with just one single GOP no vote.

The rules package includes many of the concessions, the far right demand of McCarthy.

Things like one member being able to force a vote to house the Speaker, a requirement

to pair any debt ceiling increase with spending cuts, and a new committee to probe the so-called

weaponization of government.

And while the new Republican majority has dissolved the official January 6th congressional

committee, it cannot stop state-level investigations.
