Summary

“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). The Catechism teaches us about man’s God-given dignity and unique place in creation. Fr. Mike explains the unity that exists between all persons, and how this necessitates a “law of human solidarity and charity.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 355-361.

This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.

1:12.2

catechism paragraph. So paragraph six, man, last was paragraph five, heavens and earth. Now we're

1:18.1

specifically focusing on human beings. One thing to note, obvious, maybe it's not obvious,

1:22.7

that when we talk about man, we're talking about human beings, right it's just the the way that people have spoken

1:28.3

for a really really long time and use the term man to mean all of human beings it's kind of an

1:33.8

obvious kind of a thing but I just wanted to highlight that so that whenever we say that term

1:38.6

man in the readings here unless it specifies male or female it means human beings also what

are we going to hear about

1:44.6
