Ah, greetings, my tiny theologians, Mr. Reed here, just me, my walking stick, and six neighborhood pups on our morning stroll.

You know, some folks think walking dogs is just about

exercise, but to me, it's a chance to think about the deep things while the dogs sniff

everything in sight. And today, I've been thinking about one of the most special meals in the

Bible. Yesterday, we talked about figs,

but today, we're looking at something you probably seen on your own dinner table,

a loaf of bread and a cup.

Well done. This part of the Easter story is from Luke 22, 19, and 20. It takes place during a meal we now call the last supper.

Jesus sat at the table with his closest friends, the disciples,

and he took some bread and broke it, and he said,

This is my body given for you.

And then he took the cup, said it represented his blood, poured out for them.

Here's how the Bible tells us it happened.

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,

This is my body, which is given for you.

Do this in remembrance of me. And likewise the cup after they had

eaten saying this cup that's poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Now that might sound

strange at first, but Jesus was giving them a picture to help them understand what he was about to do.
