0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.
0:07.0	Yesterday when we left off, John was in a vision of God's throne room and Jesus
0:17.0	had just taken the seven sealed scroll from the Father's right hand because Jesus
0:21.0	was the only one worthy to open it.
0:23.0	Today he begins opening the seals one by one.
0:26.0	As he opens a seal, it releases more of the scroll so more of the story can be read.
0:30.0	It would be kind of like if a piece of paper were folded up seven times and each time you
0:34.6	unfold it you see more of what's written. With the first four seals we see four
0:38.8	horses and four horsemen. These are commonly referred to as the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
0:44.0	By the way, the word apocalypse in Greek is the English word revelation.
0:49.0	So these could also be called the four horsemen of the revelation.
0:52.0	They are all enemies of God and even though one is on a white
0:54.9	horse don't let that fool you. He's a counterfeit of Jesus who also rides a white horse later in this book. They bring
1:01.0	death, disease, and destruction. But notice that these enemies of God still only
1:05.3	operate under his jurisdiction. They come out when his seraphim give the command. They bring
1:10.2	destruction, but any authority they have is tightly held by God and has only
1:14.4	temporarily given to them for accomplishing his purposes of judgment on the earth.
1:18.6	They are never in control, and God's reign is never in question.
1:22.6	The three final seals pertain to God's people.
1:25.3	Seal number five gives us a glimpse of the martyrs.
1:28.0	Seal number six is the great day of the Lord
1:30.3	we've been reading about throughout scripture.
