0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.
0:07.0	If you're doing our New Testament plan, today we finished our 13th and 14th books,
0:17.2	and if you're doing the whole Bible, we finished books 52 and 53.
0:21.6	Paul wrote today's two letters while in prison, though we're not sure which prison, maybe Rome.
0:26.0	The first letter is to a church at Kallase in modern Turkey.
0:29.0	He didn't plant this church and he hadn't met them but he's friends with one of their
0:32.8	church leaders who filled him in on some problems they're having. He starts out by
0:37.0	thanking God for their faith and hope and love and ask God to grow their
0:40.8	knowledge and wisdom. He wants them to know and love God with their minds,
0:44.7	and he wants to see it bearing fruit
0:46.3	in the way they live their lives.
0:48.1	And he says they have what they need to do that
0:50.0	because God is the one who empowers them.
0:52.6	Then he goes on to remind them exactly who Jesus is.
0:55.8	Colossians 1 15 through 20 is one of the most succinct, beautiful descriptions of who Jesus
1:00.1	is in all of scripture.
