| 0:00.0 | Day 338 of Heart Dive 365. I'm your Bible study friend Kenoy. Welcome to the Heart Dive |
| 0:09.1 | podcast. Taking a look at the fourth letter that Paul wrote to the Church of Corinth, then you might be saying, wait, what? The fourth letter? Well, if you look at the fourth letter that Paul wrote to the Church of Corinth, then you might be |
| 0:21.7 | saying, wait, what? The fourth letter? Well, if you look at, or you consider the two letters |
| 0:27.1 | that were lost along the way, there was the first letter that Paul wrote, and then there was |
| 0:31.6 | First Corinthians, and then there was believed to have been a third letter that was written |
| 0:35.8 | also lost, that was more of a severe letter, |
| 0:38.5 | and then 2nd Corinthians was written. So that would be the fourth letter that was written. This one |
| 0:43.7 | is actually a bit more autobiographical in nature. It's Paul's way of kind of opening up his |
| 0:50.5 | heart to the church. He becomes a bit more vulnerable in a way, so I would think that this is probably one |
| 0:55.4 | of the more difficult letters that he had to write. |
| 0:58.3 | And it starts off with him once again having to defend his integrity and his authority, |
| 1:04.2 | because what happened was he told the people in Corrine that he wanted to come back and |
| 1:08.5 | visit. |
| 1:09.5 | He had already visited them twice. |
| 1:10.3 | He wanted to come back a third time, and he said that he was going to. However, the Lord led him on a different path and so he was writing this letter in place of that visitation and the people were starting to get a little bit skeptical, you know, like we don't know if we believe or trust this Paul guy because he's not keeping his word. And so he is going to talk about that here in the first part of this letter that he writes to them. But before we get started, if you can please help us out, if you're part of the Heart Die family, hit your roll call button. Make sure you're subscribed to the channel if you want to help support this ministry and all of the good things. If you are new here, we welcome you. Or you can always go to our website, heartdive.org. We're finishing out well and I think that's why I cannot get over this sickness. I'm still struggling. It's up and down up and down and so I'm like a little bit of an attack on my body. Appreciate your prayers for healing and endurance and steadfastness to be able to finish out this year strong. So anyway, let's go ahead and pray, speaking of which, Heavenly Father, we need you, we love you, we need your help here today, physically, mentally, spiritually. We invite you into this space and we just ask, Lord, as we open up your word and read it, that you will give us understanding, give us knowledge, help us to see your word for what it is, what you meant for it to be. I pray that we won't overcomplicated in any way. I pray that you remove any distractions that may try to keep us from |
| 2:35.2 | being able to hear your voice and clear out the gunk, Lord, from our ears so that we can indeed |
| 2:40.2 | hear your sweet small whispers. Please forgive us for our sins. We just ask that you'll release |
| 2:45.8 | us from anything, Lord, that is keeping us in bondage, including unforgiveness. Help us to forgive |
| 2:50.7 | others, Lord. |
| 2:51.6 | And I just pray that in reading this today, we will be changed from glory to glory and that you |
| 2:56.4 | will be blessed and honored in this time. We love you in Jesus' name. Amen. All right, so starting |
| 3:01.0 | off here in chapter one, Paul giving his greeting as he always did. He says, Paul an apostle of Christ |
