0:13.2	Today Paul continues to address problems the church at Corinth is experiencing in their
0:16.9	regular worship meetings.
0:18.5	It's never fun to have to resolve issues, but fortunately Paul isn't afraid of conflict.
0:23.0	He's hit on some touchy topics so far and today is no different.
0:26.5	He opens by addressing the gifts that God has given each of them for building up the church.
0:30.8	There are lots of perspectives on spiritual gifts, so I'll try to address the main viewpoints
0:35.1	briefly as we move through the text.
0:37.5	One of the common misunderstandings about spiritual gifts is that their personality adjacent.
0:41.9	Since these gifts are given by the Spirit, they only show up when we get the Spirit, when
0:45.9	we enter into a relationship with Yahweh.
0:48.4	Since most of the spiritual inventories or tests are more of a personality test or a natural
0:52.8	gift's assessment, they aren't necessarily the best way to determine what spiritual gifts
0:56.7	we have.
0:57.7	There's nothing wrong with using these tests to discover our natural giftings, those
1:01.1	can benefit the church too, but the tests aren't necessarily helpful in figuring out our
1:04.9	supernatural gifts.
1:06.7	Here's what I mean.
1:07.7	If Moses, who wasn't good with words, had taken a spiritual gift's test, he probably
1:12.1	wouldn't have tested as a prophet, teacher, or leader, but those are the ways God's Spirit
1:16.3	equipped and used him.
1:17.9	So there's not always a correlation.
