Hello, I'm Father Joe Roche of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Thank you for joining us as we continue with our year-long journey, reading the diary of St. Maria Faustina Cavalska from beginning to end. Today we have a letter from Father Sopocho to St. Faustina from October 5, 1936.

Dear Sister in Christ, thank you for your remembrance and prayers, which I need particularly now. I would only like to ask you not to take upon yourself any mortifications that could be harmful to your health, for our health

is a most precious gift among temporal things. I am sorry to hear about your sickness, sister,

but in this is the will of God, which, for those who love it, works all things for good.

I plan to publish the Holy Card of the Divine Mercy,

provided I receive the approval of the Archbishop.

I recall that you once told me about a novena, or also a chaplet,

or some other prayer which the Lord Jesus had taught you. I would like to place it on the

reverse side of the Holy Card so as to awaken trust in God's mercy among a larger number of people

and thus incite the public to a more specific worship of the Lord God in his greatest attribute.

Therefore, Sister, will you be so kind as to send me a copy of this novena,

or of the chaplet, or else of the prayer, as soon as possible?

Though I firmly trust that you will recover, for which I am praying,

but just in case, please ensure that in some way your diary is safe and protected from destruction.

I would like to have it, if such is the will of God, but maybe someone else will receive it.

In any case, Sister, I would like you to carefully underline everything that you consider to have come clearly from God,

particularly whatever refers to the feast and to the congregation.

If these things really come from God, we have the great duty to respect and faithfully fulfill everything.

Since you inquired about my health sister, I ought to tell you that to my spiritual sufferings are added physical ones,

which sometimes confine me to my bed.

Right now I feel better and am resuming normal work.
