Taking a look once again at the Olive It discourse, now in Mark chapter 13. So similar to what we read

about yesterday in Matthew chapter 24. And we'll be looking at this again tomorrow as we read Luke chapter 21. And so this is Jesus foretelling about the future events, but also about the near fulfillment of the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem. So we'll be reading from the ESV by Crossway translation. But before we get

I want to start reading the Bible today, maybe not because it's toward the end of the year, but because something in your spirit said that this was the right thing to do, that you want to draw closer to the Lord, you want to grow your relationship with him. I tell you what, this is the best place to be, not necessarily in this Bible study, but in God's Word. So that's what we do here at Heartdive. We love to get into God's Word every single day. We've done it for the past year and more than a half of a year. And so we will continue to build upon this foundation that we have started here as we continue to do more Bible study content. All right, we're going to go ahead and pray, get into God's word. It is a beautiful Wednesday,

hump day. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for this day. We thank you, Lord, that you are

sovereign, that you are on the throne. We thank you that you are in control of every event that is

taking place in this world. We thank you for being faithful, Lord.

We thank you for freedom, a freedom that is not bound by a constitution, but a freedom

that you have given to us to live in your good graces because of what you have done on the cross,

Jesus.

Thank you for the forgiveness of sins.

Thank you for the eternal life and the hope that we have

to live for. So please forgive us for our sins. Help us to turn from them, Lord, to live for you

in full surrender. Help us to also forgive others so we can set them free and set ourselves free from any

bitterness or anxiety. And I just pray that you will cover every person today, Lord. Just give them a big hug right now. Let them know that you love them. Let them feel the warmth of your comfort and your presence. And we are just so grateful that you are here with us. You say we're two or more gathered. There you are. So we trust and believe in that today. And I just pray that you'll meet every need, Lord. You know what people are asking for today. You know what they're petitioning for. You know what they're contending for. And so I just pray that you will let them know that you hear their prayers. May your word that we read today fall upon a fertile heart, oh God. Do a work within us, Holy Spirit. We open ourselves up to you to do so. We love you in Jesus' name. Amen.
