0:00.0	For a lot of you, today's reading may have hit a tender spot, because Jesus touches on something
0:17.7	that's really personal.
0:19.5	One of the things this shows us is that there's no area of our lives that is untouched by God,
0:23.8	no space he's restricted from or inactive in or that he doesn't care about and have plans
0:27.9	for.
0:28.9	That's one of the things about sovereignty.
0:30.4	It knows no bounds.
0:32.2	Sovereign means over all.
0:34.5	So when Jesus launches out with a sermon on divorce, some of you may have felt yourselves
0:38.4	tense up.
0:39.4	It's okay.
0:40.4	He can be trusted.
0:41.9	And if you read through his words and found that you didn't live up to them somehow, welcome
0:45.6	to the club.
0:46.6	The club is called Humanity because that's all of us.
0:48.5	We all fall short of Jesus' teachings, which is why he came to pay for our sins because
0:52.9	he knows we're not going to nail it.
0:55.2	He doesn't just pay for our sins, he takes our shame.
0:58.1	Romans 8.1 says there is therefore now no condemnation for those who were in Christ Jesus.
1:04.1	So if you read through his teaching on divorce and felt ashamed, that is not what God speaks
1:08.2	over you.
1:09.2	That's either a lie from the enemy or a lie from the pride of your own flesh.
