| 0:00.0 | Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble, and I'm your host for the Bible Recap. |
| 0:12.9 | Today, we really got a glimpse into why Matthew, Mark, and Luke are known as the Synoptic Gospels. |
| 0:17.8 | We read a lot of the same stories through three different lenses. |
| 0:21.8 | First, we read about another time when the Pharisees accused the disciples of breaking the Sabbath, and Jesus uses |

| 1:05.7 | So even the needs of the people are greater than the law of the Sabbath. |
| 1:10.1 | The law at large shows us our brokenness and our need, |
| 1:11.5 | and it points out what righteous living looks like, and that's important. |
| 1:13.9 | But the law never terminates on itself. |
| 1:16.4 | It points to him. |
| 1:18.2 | And what the Pharisees have done is misinterpreted and misapplied God's law. |
| 1:22.0 | They've twisted it into a version that no longer points to him and his heart. |
