and now we're coming back to Matthew's account of the miracles that we read about in Mark

chapter 1. So we'll be reading Matthew chapter 8 and Mark chapter 2 today, and this just

affirms the deity and the authority of Jesus as king. So we'll be reading from the ESV by Crossway

Other than that, let's go ahead and pray and jump on in. Heavenly Father, we love you and we honor you, we glorify, we praise you, and worship you. You are worthy of all of the honor and praise. And so we just thank you for this time that we have together. We thank you, Lord, that we have the word that is sitting before us, that you've already spoken, but it is still so alive and it is active. It is moving. Holy Spirit, as you breathe upon it, starts to bubble up within our own souls. It's that living water that

refreshes, that cleanses, that purifies. So we thank you for it today. And we know that you are going

to speak to us. So I pray that our ears will be open to hear your voice. I pray that our eyes will be

open to see your face on the pages of this scripture. And I pray that our hearts will be open

to be able to receive it openly, Lord. If there are any barriers that we are holding or trying to shield from you, Lord, we know that you see everything anyway. So I just pray that we'll kind of open ourselves up to you, got to stretch out a little bit, to allow you to start to do some open heart surgery on us, Lord, why wait? We don't want to wait any longer. We don't want to hold back from you anymore. We don't want to reject you in any way. We want to be free and clear before you so we can run as if we are running in wide open pastures. So we thank you for the gift of this life that we still have, the breath that is still in our lungs. We thank you for the forgiveness, Jesus, that is available to us because of the work that you have done on the cross.
