0:13.2	Today we open with a Valley Vision and a Stick Sign Act.
0:16.4	Ezekiel's vision in the Valley of Dry Bones is probably his 20 minutes of fame.
0:20.7	This is what he's most known for.
0:22.7	In fact, I've heard probably half a dozen sermons preached on this, using it to illustrate
0:27.3	a variety of different things, like God making dead people into a powerful army, or how
0:31.7	people have the power to speak life into things, but lots of them have nothing to do with
0:35.8	what the text is actually teaching here, and some of them are even biblically inaccurate.
0:40.0	So today we're going to make sure we keep our eyes on the text and the context to see
0:43.9	what God is actually communicating to us about himself and his plan.
0:48.4	Ezekiel has a vision of a bunch of dry bones in a valley.
0:51.4	As far as the eye can see, there's nothing but femurs and fibrilates.
0:55.1	Then through Ezekiel, God commands the bones to live.
0:58.9	This is God's command, not Ezekiel's.
1:01.5	We can hear it in verses 4-6 where God says,
1:04.2	Prophecy over these bones and say to them,
1:06.7	Oh, dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
1:10.0	Thus says the Lord God to these bones,
1:12.4	Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live, and I will lay sin use
1:17.4	upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath
1:21.6	in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
1:26.1	So we can see that God is the one who issued the command, and God is the one who breathed
