Summary

Fr. Mike takes us through the last chapter of Isaiah by explaining how our emotions can sometimes get in the way of us responding well to those around us. This means mourning with those who mourn, and rejoicing with those who rejoice, as Isaiah teaches us in preparation for the coming of Christ. Today's readings are Isaiah 66, Ezekiel 25-26, and Proverbs 14:1-4.

0:54.2	the prophet Isaiah in chapter 66, as well as we're launching into yesterday, gosh, Ezekiel's wife
1:00.4	died, marking the moment of the destruction of this final siege of Jerusalem, the destruction of
1:05.7	the temple. Now in Ezekiel chapter 25 and 26, we're going into some words of prophecy against
1:11.9	some of the nations, right? So the nations are not necessarily the people of Jerusalem. We're
1:17.2	shifting Ezekiel's gaze and the Lord's gaze to prophecies against the Ammonites, against the Moabites,
1:23.0	against the Philistines in Edamites and Tire inside and those kinds of folks. But before that,
1:28.1	we are going to jump into the conclusion of the book of the prophet Isaiah.
1:34.3	The book of the prophet Isaiah, chapter 66, the judgment of God. Thus says the Lord,
1:41.2	heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. What is the house which you would build for me
1:46.8	and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made and so all these things
1:53.0	are mine, says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I look. He that is humble and contrite in spirit
