0:13.2	Today we open with Jeremiah continuing the plea for Judah to repent.
0:18.0	Throughout this section, we see God repeating the theme that he doesn't just want them to
0:22.1	change their actions or offer up empty sacrifices like vain apologies.
0:26.7	They've baked repentance before and he didn't buy it then either.
0:30.2	He's after their hearts.
0:32.5	We see it in verse 4 where he's comparing this change of heart to the way he marked
0:36.6	them with circumcision.
0:38.0	He says, remove the foreskin of your hearts.
0:41.8	And in verse 14, he says, oh Jerusalem, wash your heart from evil.
0:47.6	How long shall your wicked thoughts lodge within you?
0:51.0	And in verse 19, your ways and your deeds have brought this upon you.
0:56.0	This is your doom and it is bitter.
0:58.6	It has reached your very heart.
1:01.7	Their sin yielded this consequence.
1:04.5	And God's problem with their sin goes far beyond their actions.
1:08.5	It goes to their very heart.
1:10.7	So his consequence is due too.
1:13.4	Then in verse 10, Jeremiah seems to be accusing God of lying.
1:18.1	It's a confusing time to be alive because up until this point, all the so-called profits
1:22.9	of the land have been telling all the people of Judah, they don't sweat it, things are
1:26.3	going to be fine.
