| 0:57.0 | So that's a pretty intense comparison if that's what all our righteous deeds are like. |
| 1:01.1 | That's not just humbling, that's actually demotivating. But that's exactly |
| 1:05.8 | why context and culture are important to remember, because they help us understand something |
| 1:10.1 | in this verse that might not be immediately obvious. |
| 1:13.4 | In ancient Israel, people who are unclean, |
| 1:16.2 | like this first mentions, couldn't enter the temple |
| 1:18.6 | without first being purified. |
| 1:20.7 | And when women were having their period, they weren't allowed in the temple either. |
