0:07.0	We're almost finished with Isaiah, the majorest of all the major prophets.
0:17.0	Just two more days then we'll be wrapping up book number 22.
0:21.0	So let's jump in with chapter 54. Here God promises a blessing to the people of Israel.
0:27.1	He says he will enlarge his family through them and it will include people from all over
0:31.1	the world. At present these other nations are their enemies,
0:34.0	so it may feel like a strange blessing to them.
0:37.0	But he reminds them in the meantime that this is nothing to fear,
0:40.0	and that this time of waiting is nothing to be ashamed of.
0:43.0	He presents Israel as a bride and himself as a husband, one who redeems them.
0:49.0	He compares their current situation to what Noah and his family went through in the flood.
0:53.9	There was devastation and loss, but ultimately God protected his people through the trial.
0:59.5	He promises steadfast love, a covenant of peace, compassion, not anger or rebuke.
1:06.4	And not only will he not wipe them out, but since they have a lot of enemies, he also says
1:10.9	no enemy will succeed in wiping them out either.
1:14.0	He promises security and protection of his people at large.
1:18.0	Their gates will be secure.
1:20.0	He promises to teach all their children.
1:22.0	Wow. The fact that God this He promises to teach all their children.
1:22.7	Wow.
1:23.8	The fact that God the Spirit teaches us
1:26.8	is such a gift.
