0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible recap.
0:07.0	Yesterday, when we left off, the leaders of Assyria had come to Judah to threaten all
0:17.0	their people.
0:18.0	Today, we see how Judah's king Hezekiah responds in light of these threats.
0:22.4	The very first thing he does in the midst of his distress is go to God.
0:27.6	As soon as he hears the news, he goes to the temple.
0:31.1	He also trusts God to intervene and rebuke the Assyrians for their words.
0:35.6	Meanwhile, he sends his staff to talk to Isaiah, and Isaiah tells them God is already orchestrating
0:40.3	everything to dethrone the king of Assyria, just as Hezekiah hoped, and that he'll die
0:45.0	by the sword.
0:47.2	Not long after that, the messengers of Assyria send another threatening, mocking letter to
0:51.6	Hezekiah, and this time it's especially scary because it seems the Assyrians have already
0:56.2	taken all of the major cities of Judah, and now their army surrounds Jerusalem.
1:02.1	And once again, Hezekiah doesn't issue a reply to them.
1:05.9	His first stop in the midst of despair is the House of the Lord.
1:10.6	He spreads out the letter before God and asks God to intervene.
1:15.4	This is a man who knows what God is capable of.
1:19.7	He asks for God's deliverance not only because he desires it for himself, but also because
1:24.3	he believes it will show that Yahweh alone is the one true God.
1:28.6	He asks God to save Judah for God's sake.
1:32.6	Then a really cool thing happens.
1:34.4	Hezekiah is in the temple praying, and the next thing we know, Isaiah sends him a message
