0:07.0	Before we dig into our chapters today, let's zoom out a little on this situation to make
0:17.2	sure we're addressing some of the possible nuances of these prophecies.
0:21.6	Yesterday we left off with Edam being turned into a sticky, smelly
0:24.7	wasteland covered in weeds and birds. It represented a kind of undoing of
0:29.6	creation, much like the flood when God destroyed Earth 1.0 and then opened Earth 2.0 for business.
0:36.0	When God first made Earth 1.0, the words he used to describe it in Genesis 1, 22 were without form and void,
0:43.8	shapeless and empty, basically.
0:46.1	The Hebrew words used here are Tohu and Boohu.
0:49.6	And in yesterday's description of that wasteland in 3411, both of those words are used again.
0:55.0	This seems to be a very intentional move.
0:58.0	Genesis 1 is the only other place where that combo exists in scripture. And in fact the only other time the word
1:04.6	bohoo, void, is used in all of scripture is in Jeremiah 423 where he's describing
1:10.4	this same situation. So yesterday we read about the formless void Earth 2.0
1:16.3	after God's wrath was poured out over all the nations and today we read about how
1:20.8	the ransom captives are brought back to the land.
1:24.0	So to understand this section well, we have to ask, does this refer to the time around 700
1:28.6	BC when this was written, or is this a future prophecy of the final days?
