0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble, and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.
0:13.0	Yesterday we covered woes, number one, two, and three, and today we wrap up the final
0:17.2	three of six.
0:18.8	Today's reading ended on a dark note, but hopefully you'll be encouraged to know that
0:22.8	tomorrow things brighten up a bit.
0:25.2	And we're not far off from the parts of Isaiah that deal with the new heavens and the new
0:28.9	earth, which are pretty amazing to read about.
0:32.3	We opened today with a reinforced woe to Judah, woe to those who go down to Egypt.
0:37.4	We've heard this one before.
0:39.2	We know Judah is working on an alliance with Egypt because Judah is afraid of Assyria,
0:43.3	so this is clearly directed at Judah.
0:46.0	God says they will seek help from Egypt, but Egypt will be rendered helpless themselves.
0:51.4	They may have horses and chariots, but God has weapons Judah can't even imagine.
0:56.3	He can provide in ways that are supernatural, and he foretells the day when they'll finally
1:01.6	turn to him and destroy their idols.
1:04.6	And in that day, a righteous king will reign.
1:08.2	Hopefully you've picked up on this by now, but anytime we see the future righteous king
1:12.5	reigning after the day of the Lord, that points to Jesus.
1:16.1	Of course, the people in Isaiah's day didn't know this, they naturally assumed it would
1:20.2	be an earthly king, but a good one to contrast all the bad ones they've experienced.
1:26.1	In that day, fools and scoundrels won't be exalted anymore, but for now they're still
1:30.8	running rampant.
