down here, but they don't play games like that. I'm starting off today with our Texas State

Senator Phil King, because Senator King agreed to explain to us why redistricting

is ensnared in the courts here given that California did a jam down. What's going on? Senator,

welcome. Good to see it. First, tell people which you, which district you represent here.

Well, it's Texas State Dent District 10. It really starts right here in Fort Worth and goes west out into West Texas, about eight counties, represent about a million people, everything from a county of 4,000 to 2 million. Well, I've got to tell you, off the record, because I don't want to offend anyone. It's on the radio. No one will know. Yeah. The Fort Worth Club is my favorite club in the United States. I think it is a fabulous place. Is Landman any around here? So actually Taylor Sheridan lives in the district, and everywhere you go, you see Landman film. They took over one of my favorite barbecue spots the other day. So, you're in your district?

He's a constituent? Yeah, he does. Well, that's very good. That's going to bring a lot of good stuff to your district. Now, let's get to the tough stuff. Hey, why did they name you that's a guy to come and explain redistricting to me? Well, I chaired the redistricting committee in the Senate this year when we did congressional redistricting. Did we screw the Democrats as hardly as we could?

And by the way, I'm all for that.

That's exactly correct. You can draw those boundaries. However you want to draw them, as long as you do it for

political purposes. Our objective was to try to create five new Republican congressional seats in Texas.
