Continuing Isaiah's prophecy today in chapters 18 through 22, reading from the ESV by Crossway

So before we jump on into the word, let's go ahead and prepare our hearts and pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for this day. Thank you for our lives. Thank you for choosing us, and thank you for allowing us to be your child.

We are so grateful to be in the family. Father, we thank you so much for this day. Thank you for our lives. Thank you for choosing us,

and thank you for allowing us to be your child. We are so grateful to be in the family of God, Lord,

and so I just pray that we never take that for granted. So as we open up your word today,

let our hearts be ready to receive the word that you want to speak to us personally. We just pray,

Holy Spirit, that our hearts, our ears will be in tune with your

frequency. Please allow our eyes to be focused upon your character, your heart. Let us see

your heartbeat today throughout these pages. Even if there isn't something that is explicitly said

in the scriptures, we can still see your heart behind it and the things that you've done. And as we continue to grow in our relationship with you and to know you more, that's how we're going to know your heart and your character. So grow us in wisdom and knowledge today, Lord. Please forgive us of our sins, cleanse our hearts, allow our hands to be clean as well, and help us to also forgive those who've sinned against us. Please do not lead us

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and power and glory forever.

In Jesus' name, amen. So chapter 18 is dealing with Cush. So taking a look here at our handy

atlas at the zoomed out map. If this is Israel here, we've got Egypt to the southwest, here is the Red Sea,

and of course the Nile River flowing through Egypt, we'll ride along the Nile River and to the

south of Egypt. We're going to zoom in to the Red Sea there. Here's the Nile, Israel up here.

This is where Kush lies, right in between Ethiopia

and south of Egypt.
