podcast. Today, taking a look at a whale of a tale. But of course, if you have studied

the book of Jonah in depth by any means, you know that it is more than just a story about a guy who went into the belly of a whale, which may have not been a whale after all. But regardless, we're going to take a look at the bigger picture of this story. Reading from the ESV by Crossway Translation. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this day. We thank you, Lord, that your word is so powerful. It is unchanging. It is moving. It is alive. It is active, sharper than a double-edged sword. And we're excited, Lord, for what it is going to do today, for the power that it holds within it. So we praise you for your word.

We never want to neglect the purpose of the cross, Lord, which was to die for our sins, because we have all fallen short of the glory of God. And so we just pray, Lord, that you'll cleanse our hearts right now. Forgive us. Show us where we've gone wrong. Help us to make it right. Help us also to forgive those who have sinned against us. Please don't lead us into temptation. That doesn't mean that you guide us into temptation, Lord, but it means that you will lead us away from it whenever we desire to follow after you and to seek you and to stay on

your road. That's exactly what we want to do today, Lord. So we continue to keep our eyes focused on

you so that we are traveling in the right direction. So move our hearts today, Lord, allow our

eyes, ears, and hearts to be open to whatever it is that you want to speak to us. We love you so much
