0:07.0	Today we finished our 16th book of the Bible. Congratulations. We spent some time in the
0:18.4	Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah today, but we start
0:22.3	out in the north with Wicked King Ahab.
0:24.3	Yesterday God sent Elijah to pronounce death on Ahab at his family but then showed
0:28.8	mercy on Ahab when he repented. When we open today we see the kings of the two kingdoms make an alliance.
0:35.0	They want to capture Raymoth Gilead, a city that was taken by Syria.
0:40.0	Before they put a strategy together,
0:42.0	Jeho Schofat asked that they can seek God for counsel.
0:45.0	Smart move.
0:46.0	Ahab brings in 400 prophets,
0:48.0	and they all say God will grant them success.
0:51.0	Then Jeho Shafat is like,
0:52.0	but are there any other profits we can ask?
0:54.0	They just ask 400 profits who are all in agreement, so why does he need another opinion?
0:59.0	If 400 out of 400 dentists agree on the best toothpaste, I'm not looking for the opinion of 401, I'm just buying it.
1:05.9	But the thing is, and this is only kind of obvious in the original text, these profits weren't inquiring
1:11.1	of Yawe.
1:12.8	They were almost certainly the same 400 prophets of Ashara mentioned in 1st Kings 18.
1:18.4	Remember how Ahab had 450 prophets of Ba'al and 400 prophets of Ashara when Elijah called him up to the showdown on Mount Carmel
1:26.1	But only the 450 prophets of Ba'al showed up.
1:29.4	Elijah killed them, but we never heard anything from the 400 prophets of a sharer.
