0:07.0	We spent today in the Northern Kingdom of Israel following more of King Ahab's story.
0:17.0	You may recall from yesterday in 1633 that he was God's least favorite King so far,
0:22.0	and today's reading gave us a little more insight into why. that he was God's least favorite King so far,

0:25.6	The Prophet Elijah tells King Ahab that God is sending a drought on Ahab's kingdom.
0:30.2	Then God tells Elijah to get out of there and sends him to live far away from Ahab near a creek.
0:35.0	There's not any food there either.
0:37.0	But, since God invented birds, he tells the fear of them to bring Elijah food every morning and evening.
0:42.0	All is well and good until the creek dries up.
0:45.4	At this point, I wonder if Elijah questioned if God had really sent him there.
0:49.9	Obedience doesn't guarantee everything will go our way, or even what we perceive to be God's way.
0:56.4	God sends Elijah to a new location,
0:58.6	Zarifeth, on the Mediterranean coastline. Upgrade! God tells him that he has commanded a widow there to feed him.
1:05.0	Awesome. But when Elijah shows up, she's like, you want food?
1:10.0	Oh sure, let me just whip something up out of thin air.
1:12.9	Maybe you haven't noticed there's a drought.
1:14.8	My son and I are literally about to starve to death.
1:18.3	God sent Elijah to get something from someone who had nothing.
1:22.2	At this point, it's starting to look like God is cruel.
1:24.8	But not to worry, Elijah tells her God is about to multiply her food miraculously and
1:30.6	her supplies won't end until the drought does.
