0:13.2	We spent today in the Northern Kingdom of Israel following more of King Ahab's story.
0:17.8	You may recall from yesterday in 1633 that he was God's least favorite King so far, and
0:22.9	today's reading gave us a little more insight into why.
0:26.0	The prophet Elijah tells King Ahab that God is sending a drought on Ahab's kingdom.
0:30.5	Then God tells Elijah to get out of there and sends him to live far away from Ahab near
0:34.6	a creek.
0:35.7	There's not any food there either, but since God invented birds, he tells a few of them
0:40.2	to bring Elijah food every morning and evening.
0:42.6	All as well and good until the creek dries up.
0:45.6	At this point, I wonder if Elijah questioned if God had really sent him there.
0:50.3	Obedience doesn't guarantee everything will go our way, or even what we perceive to
0:54.5	be God's way.
0:56.7	God sends Elijah to a new location, Zerafeth, on the Mediterranean coastline.
1:01.2	Upgrade.
1:02.6	God tells him that he has commanded a widow there to feed him.
1:05.4	Awesome.
1:06.4	But when Elijah shows up, she's like, you want food?
1:09.9	Oh sure, let me just whip something up out of thin air.
1:13.2	Maybe you haven't noticed there's a drought.
1:14.9	My son and I are literally about to starve to death.
1:18.6	God sent Elijah to get something from someone who had nothing.
