0:07.0	Today we covered a lot of the same territory as yesterday, but Chronicles did provide us a few new details, so I'm going to focus mainly on those.
0:21.0	During the time of the divided kingdom, the ten tribes of the Northern
0:24.1	Kingdom reject the Levites as priests. So not only do the Levites get fired
0:28.5	from their jobs, but they're also evicted from their homes. So all the Levites leave the tribal lands
0:34.3	had been appointed to serve and they moved to Judah in the Southern kingdom. These
0:38.1	priests have served under the relatively good leadership of David and Solomon and that
0:42.0	sticks with them for a while.
0:43.8	They have set their hearts to seek God, and for three years they help keep the Southern
0:48.3	Kingdom on the straight and narrow, but it eventually starts to fall apart as we saw yesterday.
0:53.2	It's unclear whether the hearts of the Levites
0:55.4	also turn away from God,
0:57.2	or whether King Ray just stops caring
0:58.9	and disregards God's laws and purposes for the Levites.
1:02.3	King Ray has a lot of wives and concubines,
1:05.0	and as his family grows, he distributes his sons throughout the regions,
1:09.0	making sure to provide for them and find them wives.
1:12.0	They seem to serve sort of like governors in the region, helping to make
1:14.7	sure his power and influence take root in every part of the Southern Kingdom. But as his power
1:19.7	grows, his heart turns away from God.
1:23.0	Weakness has a way of reminding us of our needs,
1:26.0	whereas strength has a way of prompting us to lean into autonomy and foolish forgetfulness.
