0:07.0	Today, we covered a lot of the same territory as yesterday, but Chronicles did provide us
0:17.6	a few new details, so I'm going to focus mainly on those.
0:21.3	During the time of the divided kingdom, the ten tribes of the Northern Kingdom reject
0:25.1	the Levites as priests.
0:26.9	So not only did the Levites get fired from their jobs, but they're also evicted from their
0:31.2	homes.
0:32.2	So all the Levites leave the tribal lands that have been appointed to serve and they move
0:35.8	to Judah in the Southern Kingdom.
0:38.2	These priests have served under the relatively good leadership of David and Solomon, and
0:41.9	that sticks with them for a while.
0:43.9	They have set their hearts to seek God, and for three years, they help keep the Southern
0:48.3	Kingdom on the straight and narrow, but it eventually starts to fall apart as we saw
0:51.9	yesterday.
0:52.9	It's unclear whether the hearts of the Levites also turn away from God, or whether King
0:57.8	Ray just stops caring and disregards God's laws and purposes for the Levites.
1:02.6	King Ray has a lot of wives and concubines, and as his family grows, he distributes his
1:07.6	sons throughout the regions, making sure to provide for them and find them wives.
1:12.1	They seem to serve sort of like governors in the region, helping to make sure his power
1:15.4	and influence take root in every part of the Southern Kingdom.
1:19.1	But as his power grows, his heart turns away from God.
1:23.8	Weakness has a way of reminding us of our needs, whereas strength has a way of prompting
