| 0:00.0 | Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble, and I'm your host for the Bible Recap. |
| 0:11.7 | Today we tackle more of Solomon's Proverbs, and chapter 19 starts out with a lot of wisdom |
| 0:16.6 | on relationships, including our relationship with God. I'll open with a confession. |
| 0:22.4 | Beside 19.2 in my Bible, I've written TLC exclamation mark in all caps in the margin. |
| 0:28.8 | Those are my initials and my nickname, so it's just my way of trying to call my attention to the |
| 0:33.0 | fact that I struggle with this, particularly the second half of the verse. |
| 0:37.1 | The whole verse says, |
| 0:38.8 | desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. |
| 0:44.6 | I've told you before that one of my old roommates used to say I do things fast and wrong. |
| 0:49.2 | So when I read, whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way, that's got my name written all over it. |
| 0:56.0 | This is a reminder to me that I need to seek his guidance on things instead of just forging |

| 1:06.2 | It says, desire without knowledge is not good. If you were in a relationship with someone who said they loved |
| 1:12.5 | you but didn't want to know anything about you, wouldn't that seem really off to you? Wouldn't it |
| 1:17.6 | make you really skeptical about their so-called love? It breaks my heart to see this kind of thing in the |
| 1:23.0 | church, where we have a relationship with God that is driven only by emotion and that has no actual knowledge |
| 1:28.4 | of who God is. That's why I'm so glad we're in the word here. Every day that you open up your Bible |
| 1:34.5 | and put your eyes on who God says he is, you're displaying the kind of wisdom this verse calls us to. |
| 1:41.3 | Verse 3 describes a common occurrence, not just in the world at large, but even within the church. |
| 1:46.5 | It says, when a man's folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord. |
| 1:52.5 | Have you seen this happen? Or maybe this has even happened to you? |
| 1:56.5 | Often, when our sins lead to negative consequences, we blame God instead of ourselves. |
