0:13.0	Today we tackle more of Solomon's Proverbs, and chapter 19 starts out with a lot of
0:17.2	wisdom on relationships, including our relationship with God.
0:20.4	I'll open with a confession.
0:23.6	Beside 192 in my Bible, I've written TLC exclamation mark in all caps in the margin.
0:29.9	Those are my initials and my nickname, so it's just my way of trying to call my attention
0:33.7	to the fact that I struggle with this, particularly the second half of the verse.
0:38.2	The whole verse says, desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with
0:43.4	his feet misses his way.
0:45.1	I've told you before that one of my old roommates used to say I do things fast and wrong, so
0:50.4	when I read, whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way, that's got my name written
0:55.5	all over it.
0:57.1	This is a reminder to me that I need to seek his guidance on things instead of just forging
1:01.0	ahead on my own.
1:03.0	And the first half of the verse has a different level of beauty and truth to it.
1:07.2	It says, desire without knowledge is not good.
1:11.3	If you were in a relationship with someone who said they loved you but didn't want to
1:14.2	know anything about you, wouldn't that seem really off to you?
1:18.4	Wouldn't it make you really skeptical about their so-called love?
1:21.8	It breaks my heart to see this kind of thing in the church, where we have a relationship
1:26.0	with God that is driven only by emotion and has no actual knowledge of who God is.
1:31.2	That's why I'm so glad we're in the word here.
