0:13.3	As we continue in Proverbs, we read more of Solomon's words.
0:17.1	Chapter 13 juxtapose the consequences of walking in wisdom and walking in foolishness.
0:21.9	He almost makes it sound like the wise person will live a charmed life and have exactly
0:25.7	zero problems.
0:27.6	Think about the wise as person you know.
0:29.4	Are they suffered at all in their life?
0:32.3	And wouldn't they probably say that their suffering is what has produced some of their wisdom?
0:36.8	I know my suffering has certainly taught me things I wouldn't have learned otherwise.
0:41.0	Wisdom and suffering aren't mutually exclusive like Proverbs can occasionally make them
0:44.4	seem.
0:45.4	So at bears repeating, these Proverbs are general guidelines for wise living, not promises
0:50.2	or prophecies.
0:51.2	So the good news for all of us is that if we're having a hard time, it doesn't necessarily
0:55.2	mean we're foolish.
0:56.5	But it might mean we have a chance to grow in wisdom, which will always last longer than
1:00.8	the suffering itself.
1:03.1	Speaking of wisdom, verse 20 is one of my favorites from this chapter.
1:06.7	It says, whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer
1:11.7	harm.
1:12.7	You've probably heard the quote that's attributed to Jim Rohn that says, you're the
1:16.2	average of the five people you spend the most time with.
