0:13.0	Today we continue in Proverbs with the father's instructions to his son.
0:17.0	He's telling him general truths for what it looks like to live and walk in the fear of the Lord,
0:21.1	in ways that engage with God on a level of delight and awe.
0:25.4	Proverbs 4-7 always makes me laugh.
0:27.6	It says,
0:28.5	The beginning of wisdom is this.
0:30.4	Get wisdom.
0:31.7	Which is kind of like saying,
0:33.3	The way to be taller is this.
0:35.5	Grow.
0:36.6	But it does go to show how circular this can actually feel sometimes.
0:40.8	We talked about this yesterday.
0:42.4	To recognize that you need wisdom is wise.
0:45.1	Then you pursue wisdom and you get wiser and you realize how much more you still have to learn.
0:50.0	I've heard a relationship with God described in much the same way,
0:53.2	that the closer you get to him,
0:54.8	the further you realize you are from him. Maybe you feel that. It's interesting how being closer
1:00.2	to the light of God will illuminate the dark places in us all the more. We feel conviction about
1:05.7	sins that never bothered us before. We see positive changes and negative attitudes that we used to pride ourselves on.
1:13.2	He really does work such a change in us that we can't access on our own. He does the doing.
