Day 155 of Heart Dive 365. I'm your Bible study friend Kanoi. Welcome to the Heart Dive podcast.

0:13.1

Well, back into the book of Proverbs once again, gaining some more wisdom. Always a good place to be

0:18.4

on a Tuesday if you are studying with us in real time. Welcome back to Bible study friends. If you are part of the heart die fam or if you're a Bible study friend, BSF, hit that like button for us. That is your roll call button saying we partner with you, Kanoi. We are here with you and we believe in what we are doing here in this ministry to get people excited about God's word. And if you are new here, we welcome you. Please let us know in the comments where you are watching from. And don't forget to check out the show notes or the description box because we've got lots of information in there for you. And if you have any questions, you may be able to find the answers there first. Or you can go to our website, heartdive.org. Otherwise, we're going to go

0:55.5

ahead and get right into it. So let's pray and prepare our hearts. Heavenly Father, we love you.

1:00.6

We thank you for this time. We thank you for this ministry. Thank you for every person who is here.

1:05.1

I just pray right now, Lord, that you will allow our hearts to be still before you. We humble ourselves

1:10.1

before you. We silence all distractions.

1:12.6

We just ask that you will please bring rest and peace into our hearts and minds right now

1:17.6

so that as we open up your word, we are able to partake of it, Lord, and to be able to hear the

1:23.2

specific message that you have for us. We know that you've already carved out this time.

1:27.9

It's already on your calendar. It is not by accident that we are here. And so we believe and we

1:33.1

trust that you are going to do something powerful while we are here today. We thank you, Lord,

1:38.3

that as we come together together in unity, that there is going to be a blessing that is commanded

1:43.8

upon this place. And so I just pray right now that you help us to get out of the way so that you can come in and infiltrate and do what you need to do. Take up every single space in our hearts, in our spirits, and in our minds. We don't want to be the ones who stand in the way of that. So forgive us, Lord, if we have done that. Forgive us if we have stopped short. Forgive us if we've crossed over the line. Show us, God, where we are unaware of our own sin. We want to be able to live lives that are honorable and in obedience to you because we know that when we do that, that is living by the wisdom that you were telling us to get today. And so I pray that that will be the case, that we will store this up into our hearts and value it for the treasure that it is. We thank you for this time, forgive us of our sins, help us to forgive others. And I just pray that you will be blessed today, Lord, in our obedience and coming to you and seeking you out in Jesus' name. Amen. So we're starting off here in

2:35.0

chapter four. This is Solomon writing to his son, but of course we look at this in the spiritual

2:39.3

sense as our heavenly father writing to his children. So we're going to take gender out of the equation

2:45.3

and say this is our God speaking to us. First one, hear, oh sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive that you may gain

2:52.7

insight, for I give you precepts. Do not forsake my teaching. Verse three, when I was a son with my father,

2:59.8

meaning David, tender, the only one in the side of my mother, meaning Bathsheba, he taught me and said to me,

3:05.8

let your heart hold fast to my words, keep my commandments

3:09.5

and live. So David knew that this was a life and death situation. Keeping the commandments in the

3:15.5

word of God would either bring life or death if you were to disobey. And they saw that with their
